Cadiz Walking Tour
Explore the long, narrow streets, colorful gardens and whitewashed buildings
of Cadiz on a guided walking tour. Highlights include the Plaza de Espana
with its monument to Spain’s Constitution of 1812, San Felipe Neri Church,
and the Town Hall.
WHAT YOU VISIT
Town Hall - Built in two stages - in 1799 and 1861 - the Town Hall is a
textbook example of neoclassical architecture. The façade is decorated with
garlands, round moldings with reliefs of Phoenician coins, and a balustraded
roof with stone vases. Your visit inside takes in the noted Capitular Room.
San Felipe Church - Spain’s first liberal constitution was declared here in
1812. Your guide points out the stunning mural above the main altar, painted
by the great Sevillian artist Murillo.
