After the long revealing hearings on Clarence
Thomas's confirmation to
the Supreme Court amid the accusations of moral 'turptitude' by one of
Mr. Thomas's clerks, Anita Hill, the conflicting decisions by our
military brass over fraternizations amongst the troops and our 'Supreme
Commanders' alleged laisons with employees/underlings, that the National
Organization of Women arent visibly outraged. Society, ready for female
leadership and the common sense that this perspective readily offers, is
tired of the presumption that 'You Can Get Away With Anything As Long As
You do The Job' in our elected officials.
N.O.W., beset with its own strife and public image, do to aggressive
females who lost support because of their most visible agendas, abortion
and support of Lesbian issues, need to refocus their solidarity by
consolidating their forces to which made the most progress in equal
rights for women. No one, including most responsible males, denys
Elizabeth Doles outright viability as a prominent participant in future
political arenas. Now is the time for all of the Women, who find the
public spectacle presently staining this countrys fine legacy, to get
off their duff and reassert the respect that history has promised. The
degradation of the last decade or two of women through the medias
attraction with the 'Studs' of sports, politics and the 'silver screen'
will only stop when a united effort is made by mothers and daughters who
arent 'impressed' any longer.
