After 15 years and nearly 200,000 miles, our 2009 Lexus RX-350 gave up the
farm when the transmission gave out. After having spent $7,000 on various
repairs the past 5 years, we decided it was best to let our Lexus (AKA Jane)
retire. We sold her to a gentlemen that works at our repair shop and will fix
her up as best as possible and donate to his church.
Karen had named the car Jane because the navigation system in 2009 was sometimes
flaky. So for you Saturday NIght fans you'll understand the reference "Jane! You
ignerent slut!".
We spent a week looking at used and then new cars online, checking out CarFax,
calling various dealers, etc. Major pain in the rear. Interesting how one car
salesman wil trash another salesman from another dealer! They seem just like
politicians.
We decided to buy another Lexus because that is what we had before for 15 years
and I felt the car treated us very well. No major repairs until we got past
180,000 miles. We love the smoothness of the ride and Carol loves the horse
power.
We finally found a 5 star Lexus dealership in Sarasota and met with Jeff
Serensky. Can't say enough good things about Jeff Serensky. I never felt
hassled, pushed, nor did he trash the other Lexus dealers. I told him the max I
wanted to spend and he found us the Lexus we like and proceeded to knock off
another $4,500. So we got the new Lexus for $47,500!! Great deal.
