At first our guide told us we had 7 minutes here. A howl went up! And we got 15 minutes, which is still too pathetically short.
This is a monument for the National Guard in 1917.
A happy family playing in the sand -- such an incongruous sight for us! But this is and was a recreational beach.
What a hunk!
