It has been an incredible summer in the Pacific
Northwest. I think we've had more sunny days this year then the previous
10 combined! I can't remember the last time we actually had a cloud, much
less rain. The weather for this year's summer bash was mid-80s and wall-to-wall blue skies.
The menu remains the same: 18 burgers, 16 chicken
breasts, 6 spicy Italian sausages, 18 Polish sausages hot dogs, and 18 smoked beef dogs.
Thanks to all for all the yummy side dishes and desserts.
Also thanks to Omer for taking over the cooking task. Yep, Karen's
parents were here. They come up from Arizona every year in the
summer. Apparently 116 degrees is just a bit hot.
My favorite "you brew" place has closed. Very
disappointing. I actually had to buy beer at the grocery store.
I'd forgotten what that was like. But no one left thirsty. We had 2 cases of
brew, white/red wine, tequila, whiskey, bourbon,
vodka, gin, Yeager master. Yum ;-)
The Mehans performed their yearly party tradition, setting up the
croquet set. Handy Eric even had to make a wicket from a white wire
hanger.
Food's ready!

Bickley's baby.
When John came roaring down the driveway encased in black leather,
Karen said, "Oh my God, who could this be?"
John's got an art show in Everett on August 17, 2003!

What's Bob telling the newlyweds, Marshall
and Lindsey?
If it's a tall fish tale, it doesn't look like they are buying it. |

Fiona! What a sweetie.
All ages are welcomed at the Ross Ranch
Summer Bash.
Ouch! To the left above Fiona's head, there's Karen's latest
boo-boo from her job as a Canine Exercise Technician at the Cascade
Kennel.

Georgette.
A.K.A. Janet's Mom.
A.K.A. Omer's sister.
A.K.A. Karen's aunt.
She ran off with the plate of cream puffs and would not share!

Couldn't get enough volunteers to get a
real volleyball game going this year.
Here you see Marshall waiting for his lovely wife Lindsey to smack that
ball.

Hey! It's Mr. Dad, coaxing 6 year old
Joshua out of the van. "You'll have fun, son. They're
nice people." |
|
Janet, Scott, Lynn (hidden) and Steve
We're so glad Lynne and Steve could drag themselves away from the farm
for a few hours, and not just because Lynn makes the best darned choco
chip cookies this side of the Mississippi. They disappeared so fast,
I didn't even get one! |
